DIY Wall Art

From my amazing Inspired Artist Workshop experience, I had the opportunity to be a teacher's assistant with the delightful CD Muckosky. She is wildly creative, imaginative, insightful and one of the most sincere and genuine persons I've met in a long time. Loved her.

As a very sweet and generous thank you, CD asked me to choose an art print from her collection. Very hard to pick just one. This one spoke to me, with the text: "My greatest gift is my family."

I wanted to include it in my little wall collection, but it didn't seem right in a frame. And it didn't feel right to purchase a canvas to apply it to.  After everything I learned about CD, her art deserved something different than traditional.

In my stash of "better-not-throw-away-cause-you-never-know-what-you-could-make-with-it" stuff, I had a box that previously contained delicious chocolates. The top of the box had the most beautiful letterpress on it; the bottom was just solid sturdy cardboard. The perfect medium for covering with paper and it has a built in hanger. Insert cool polka dot orange paper here.

The result: an upcycled frame/canvas perfect for housing CD's image. It's the most perfect and unique way to showcase this little treasure of mine!

Edited to add:  This is a really simple project and finishes in about 5 minutes.  Pretend that you're wrapping a present, only use a glue stick on the entire piece of paper.  Work in sections with the brayer and a bone folder to make sure you don't have air bubbles and all your creases are neat and tight.  I used photo corners to add the postcard to the 'canvas.'
