40 before 40

Even though I turned 29 last April (again, ahem), I thought I would get a list together of my "40 before 40" ... things I'd like to check off my list. As I've been thinking about 4o things I'd like to do, I realized that I do a lot of things every day. And rather than overburden my life even more, maybe I'll just make a list of things that come to the top of my mind. I may add to this as I go along, but really, these are some tiny dreams of mine that are good to have a deadline attached ... if only to make sure I do them. In keeping with my theme of SIMPLIFY in 2010, I really don't want to make things harder on myself.

In no particular order ... and not really sure if I'll even get to 40.

1. Teach a workshop

2. Become a Thirty-One Director

3. Paint a picture

4. Make a cupcake stand out of clay

5. Publish my PaulaWeigel.com website

6. Redesign my blog

7. Finish (ok, start AND finish) Owen's baby album

8. Start (and finish) Kate's baby album

9. Take a trip overseas

10. Take the kids to Disney World

11. Capture the stories I make up for Owen each night into a book

12. Create a video for each year of our lives with kids that includes photos, videos, etc. (like a digital scrapbook)

13. Sew a skirt for me

14. Sew a skirt for Kate

15. Plant a REAL garden

16. One year, finish all my Christmas shopping before Dec. 1

17.  Volunteer with my church

18.  Volunteer with my kid's school

19. Watch all the Best Picture movies

20. Watch Glee (never seen it)

21. Lose 15 pounds

22.  Create (or find) a signature dish that someone other than me likes

23. Organize the studio

24.  De-stash the studio

25. Plan the basement design

(appended 9-3-10)

26.  Attend a woman's retreat (preferably one hosted by Christine Kane).

27.  Take a mini-vacation with the hubby (We've had 2: the honeymoon and a surprise birthday trip to NY).

28. Have some nostalgic photographs taken at our wedding site (possibly for an anniversary?).

29. Have one really good family photograph.  The one worthy of a super-expensive frame and home prominence.

30. Beat my PR in a 5k.
