You too can make an apron!

I'm revving up for the Inspired Workshop Weekend (wooo), and combing through the suggested supply list to make sure I have everything I need. On the list: apron. Cool, I have that. Rats! My apron is covered in dust and clay and glazes. Not exactly the picture of creativity I'm going for. So when the baby was sleeping last weekend, I decided to recreate it using something from my fabric stash.

I chose an old sheet my mom had picked up for me at a yard sale several years back. This was a perfect choice since 1) it's 'springy', 2) it didn't matter if I ruined it cause it only cost like a buck, and 3) there is TONS of useable fabric in a twin sheet!

The neck strap and waist ties are from some ribbon I had lying around, but some contrasting fabric would be cute too - ribbon was just easier. The reverse side is some white fabric I had on hand, but I would like to make another one (this time, reversible) with some cuter/more trendy fabric so I think I'll do a little tutorial at the same time. And I think I'll trim out the pocket so you can see it better. It was super easy and I think these would be cute for little girls (ahem) when they're getting their art on.

You crack me up with the quiet shout-out.

I was already envisioning which fabrics and ribbons out of my stash would work, before I even got to the second paragraph. :-) I'll take a picture when I get around to making it...Thanks for the idea!!
